NAGAAA Cup Headed To Denver over Memorial Day Weekend
DENVER, COLORADO – The North American Gay Amateur Athletic Alliance (NAGAAA) is pleased to formally announce that the 2019 NAGAAA Cup will be held in beautiful Denver, Colorado. The two day tournament begins on Saturday, May 25th with a registration and welcome event on Friday, May 24th.
NAGAAA is one of the premier LGBTQIA+ sports organizations in the world with 46 member associations and over 17,000 members in Canada and the United States. NAGAAA specializes in slow pitch softball and while softball might not be in our name, it’s in our blood.
The NAGAAA Cup is an invitation only tournament showcasing the best of the best that our organization has to offer. The event features 20 to 24 of our elite A and B Division teams across North America with automatic bids to the 2019 Gay Softball World Series on the line. The large amount of highly skilled players participating in this year’s tournament will make it one to remember.
The NAGAAA Executive Board is pleased to host the event in Denver, Colorado and is coordinating with a local team on the ground in Denver to assist in laying the groundwork for the event. Denver is a first time location for the NAGAAA Cup and it was an easy choice to put the tournament there given its reputation as a growing, thriving and diverse metropolitan area.
NAGAAA holds two featured events each year, the NAGAAA Cup and the much larger Gay Softball World Series which featured nearly 200 teams at the 2018 GSWS in Tampa, Florida. This year’s Gay Softball World Series will be held in Kansas City, Missouri with Columbus, Ohio hosting in 2020. The NAGAAA Cup is held in the spring each year and usually coincides with the Memorial Day holiday.
