The year 2020 has turned out to be one of the most challenging times in our history as an association. The majority of our member city seasons and tournaments were either cancelled or delayed, with both the NAGAAA Cup and all three GSWS (Gay Softball World Series) host city awarded bids shifted one year. With COVID-19 and the safety of our community at the forefront, our organization and membership were immediately faced with having to make tough decisions.
However, through all of this, I witnessed something amazing occur—we have become stronger, more supportive, and more appreciative of one another. Our shared love for the game of softball may have been what initially brought us all together, but the love and sense of pride we share for our community has bound us together and made us a family. I believe we will continue to strengthen these bonds into the future.
As an executive board, we know how much softball and our NAGAAA events mean to you, our members, which is why we stay dedicated and focused on ways to enhance and improve your experience for the upcoming 2021 NAGAAA events. Keep a look out for some exciting announcements coming throughout the remainder of the year. I am beyond proud to be part of this organization and honored to serve as your commissioner.
I look forward to being able to see everyone and us all being together again.
