It’s NAGAAA’s 40th Anniversary. Look for the 40 vignettes about our history, daily.

The LGBTQ community made several leaps in equality on the global stage as countries like Germany and India developed protections based on sexual orientation and gender identity.  The visibility of the transgendered community continues to rise as transgendered persons are featured on the covers of National Geographic and Vogue.  The Boy Scouts of America welcomed its first openly transgendered member and Moonlight became the first motion picture with an LGBT theme to win Best Picture.  Portland, Oregon became a second-time host of the Gay Softball World Series as 185 teams flock to the Pacific Northwest to take in the tournament.  The 41st edition of the tournament returns to the West Coast for the first time since the 2008 GSWS in Seattle.  Portland is ready to welcome everyone with its theme of “Progress – Pride – Play”!
