It’s NAGAAA’s 40th Anniversary. Look for the 40 vignettes about our history, daily.

The “Big D” took on Gay Softball World Series hosting duties for the third time. Dallas, Texas hosted the GSWS previously in 2004 and 1988. Palm Springs recorded its first ever title as the Palm Springs Rounders 2.0 were crowned champions of the A Division. Other winning cities included Atlanta, Las Vegas, Los Angeles and New York. The LGBT community’s fight for marriage equality was at a fever pitch as multiple court rulings resulted in a record 35 U.S. States operating with same sex marriage rights for its citizens. Michael Sam became the first openly gay football player to be drafted by an NFL team when the Saint Louis Rams selected him in the seventh round of the NFL Draft.
